I miss him.....

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

My buddy had to go back to his foster parents. We had him for a little less than 2 weeks. He was really growing on me. I'm sad that he had to go, and so is Shaylee. She had the most heartbreaking look on her face as he drove off with someone else.....he's not her doggy anymore. He took a nip at her, it didn't hurt her, but it's really scary to see your childs face in a dogs mouth!! I don't know why he bit her, and we never will know. But we knew that we couldn't risk it happening again. I don't know what were going to do from here, but we would like to have a dog. I just don't want to go through a puppy stage. We'll see though...John really wants a puppy.

Oh....I am so sorry. I hope you find a dog that fits your family. I would have been afraid too.

Oh no Miranda - I'm so sorry :( I hope you can find the right dog for your famiy - sometimes it takes some definite research. Our pup is great with the kiddos, but I don't know if her breed is so much as it is just her personality :) She does growl sometimes when she's totally had enough of being mauled, but she doesn't bite and it takes a lot to get her there :) Plus - she is small and it doesn't scare me that she could ever do any serious damage to the kids. I hope you can find the right dog for your family!

Hugs!

Don't give up on the Greyhounds. We have 2 and they love kids...if you are still interested in the Greyhound...email me and I will help you with your greyhound group. They have foster families that have children that are use to children...maybe he wasn't use to children...not sure what the situation is. I hope you find a dog that fits the family...I know your daughter will love to have a playmate. It does get scarey when they take a nip...and when it is at a child...unacceptable! You did the right thing!. Hugs and Blessings!

Oh no :( I'm so sorry - that had to have been hard to do. I hope you find another dog that will work out with all of you.

I'm sorry to hear that. We went though the same thing last year with a dog I adopted except it was me he nipped at (Joey wasn't born yet) but it still stinks.

Oh I'm sorry that is so sad. I know puppies are a pain but I think its your best bet of getting a dog accustomed to the vigors of little children. Our yellow lab just turned a year and he's much better! LOL Best temperment too I can take food out of his mouth with no issues.... it's a lot of work, but something to think about.

That is such a dissappointing and somewhat heartbreaking thing to go through. We recently had a four-day-dog. That's how we refer to him as now, he used to be called Rick. Rick, at only 6 months of age, got very aggressive towards Will and Jack. Everyone was sad to let him go. I was mad at him for being such a dumb dog to get himself sent back to the humane society.
We have a cat now. We must be crazy.
